American Miniaturist  |  Issue 237
One of the things I love most about this art form is that you get to learn about other people’s interests and their cultures through their miniatures. Sometimes you can even see their hopes and dreams in their work!
There is nothing more exciting for me than to see something in miniature that I have never seen before. This is one of the many reasons I enjoy being the editor of American Miniaturist so much. It never ceases to amaze me how not one project is ever the same. There may be simularies, but the details are always different. I also love the stories people come up with for their creations and miniature residents.
Stories are so important for setting a scene. It makes the viewer curious enough to keep looking around a mini room for details so they can piece together what that moment in time is all about. It also helps the creator come up with original details to add to a room.
Take a look at your dollhouse and see if the story you are trying to tell is there. If it needs some work then why not elaborate on it or even switch it up for fun? Stories can evolve and grow as years go by so have fun and keep your imagination going.
