The Rover 200vi is one of the most understated and unassuming hot hatches ever built. But don’t let its butter-wouldn’t-melt styling fooling you, because behind that chrome grille you’ll find a firecracker of an engine, used to great effect in the MGF VVC and Lotus Elise 111S. It’s like a Werther’s Original dipped in Red Bull or a mug of Ovaltine with a shot of vodka, both of which sound more palatable than the ‘undrinkable’ white wine served on the British Airways flight to Genoa…
