As someone once said: “Some people are born for Halloween, and some are just counting the days until Christmas.”
If you’re in the former camp then we’ve got a bubbling cauldron of spooky delights for you.
Stan Gregg made a spur-of-the-moment decision to create a house just before Halloween using foam core and heavy cardboard. He even made his own papier mâché clay to create the brickwork. There’s a lot of inspiring ideas to learn from in his build, and they easily translate to other themes.
Shernelle Scott put together a whimsical scene for her witch and a lot of little people turned up to join in the seasonal fun.
And our very own talented Sandra Harding tells how she transformed a kit, bought with no purpose at a Pat Cutforth charity day, into a witchy world full of broom crashes, potion shelves and spooky charm. The catalyst was discovering three witches at a garden centre.
And as the weather starts to turn colder we’ve got lots of projects to keep you busy from making pine cones and pumpkin soup to weaving baskets and creating candles.
Jodi Hippler tells us how her colourful Autumn’s Pantry went together and his she wanted to showcase all the “details of a fall market down to the ripe pumpkins and sassy sunflowers”.
Jodi also had this advice for all miniaturists around the world: “Share! Sharing spreads inspiration; inspiration sparks joy and joyful people make our world a nicer place to live in. Also, take the time to encourage fellow creators. A good word from like-minded friends can make all the difference in someone’s life. Many people feel alone and unappreciated. You can make a difference just by being kind.”
A lovely sentiment we can only endorse wholeheartedly. See you next issue for sharing and kindness amidst Christmas sparkle.
