The highlight of the May edition of Diesel Car is the Geneva Motor Show, where we bring you all the stars of the Swiss show. And while most magazines and websites will focus just on the main headline acts, we’ve been deep into the show stands uncovering all of the Z-list new models that haven’t mustered a mention elsewhere. Our stand by stand coverage really can’t be missed and is one of the biggest highlights in the 2012 motoring calendar – no-one does motor shows as comprehensively as Diesel Car!
We also get behind the wheel of Peugeot’s new 208, the facelifted Renault Megane, as well as the all-new Hyundai i30. Audi’s A4 saloon, A4 allroad and A1 Sportback get the first test treatment on UK roads, and Vauxhall’s Insignia BiTurbo gets its first airing on European roads. Elsewhere, there’s the first UK test of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta with TCT dual-clutch gearbox, and Range Rover’s Evoque gets the two-wheel-drivetrain that was promised at launch. In Eco Car, we get behind the wheel of the fabulous Ampera – will motoring ever be the same again?
Vauxhall’s new Zafira Tourer faces the mighty Ford S-MAX, while Hyundai’s i40 saloon battles it out against its sister car, the Kia Optima. There’s also On Test reports of the Hyundai i800 2.5 CRDi automatic and Land Rover Defender Station Wagon 90 XS. And this month’s used car buyers guide is the Volkswagen Beetle 1.9 TDI.
