Woodturning is read by turning enthusiasts in over 60 countries worldwide and is packed with projects, features on turners around the world, tests and reviews, as well as news, letters and tips. Our projects cater for varying levels of ability, so there is something for everyone, from beginner to professional.
The December issue has many exciting projects including, an offset seedpod; a garden bell; two methods for creating an asymmetric vase; two variations of the natural-winged bowl and a two-part candleholder.
In our techniques section, we have part two of Richard Findley’s new series and this month he looks at spindle turning gouges. Also, Kurt Hertzog further looks at the range of sharpening systems available and new our author, Michael Scarborough shows us some of the techniques he uses for creating one of his signature pieces.
In our features section, we meet philosopher-turner Helga Winter and Ray Weare shares one of his pieces with us on our ‘Featured Artist’ page.
Our kit & tools section has been revamped and this month includes a test on the Hold Fast vacuum chuck system and various press releases showing the latest tools and products on the market.
