LEN GOODMAN 'MY BEST EVER STRICTLY DANCERS'
When Strictly Come Dancing was first mooted in 2004, Len Goodman turned to his wife, Sue, and said, ‘I can’t see this working.’ He smiles at the recollection. ‘I thought celebrities couldn’t be taught to dance to a sort of standard in the time available and, anyway, no one was interested in ballroom any more.’ How happy he was to be proved wrong. ‘I’d hit 60. down to two days a week in my dance school in Dartford. Sue and my son, James, were effectively running it. Then Erin Boag, who I knew from the world of dance, recommended me and I was chosen as head judge of Strictly. And it changed my life.’
