Christmas means something a little different to everyone. In my pan-Atlantic family, we open one present on Christmas Eve – a nod to the Danish-American tradition of opening your presents the day before Christmas. (This present in my household is always new pjs.) Festive traditions are a wonderful way to connect the past with the present, and if your family doesn’t have anything peculiar to your brood, why not make this year
the year you start one? Whether it’s indulging in chocolate for breakfast (our unbelievably delicious recipes on p17 will help there) or having friends and neighbours round for cocktails and canapés (try the ideas on p12), Christmas will feel so much more personal to you and yours.
