Are you missing it yet? While there’s every chance you’ll be reading this in the dying embers of the season, the fact is there’s only one day in the month of February where we can enjoy driven birds before the book closes on 2018/2019 forever. Now of course, that doesn’t mean we can’t keep shooting, either here or abroad, but the fact remains that the time has come for our guns to have their annual services, the tweeds need the attention of the dry cleaners and our gundogs are told that beating and standing behind the Guns any time soon is a while away yet. How fortunate then that we’re “welcoming” in the close season with advice on how to best fill your time until it all starts again.
