Rugby League World Magazine 520 Edição anterior

The new Women’s Super League season is finally here! Anticipation has been building over the longest of pre-seasons and the 2026 campaign promises to reward that patience in style.
With a fresh competition structure designed to increase intensity and the added incentive of a World Cup on the horizon, this year’s Super League feels like a genuine step forward. Our comprehensive club-by-club preview breaks down what to expect from every side, as reigning champions Wigan Warriors look to defend their crown, while the chasing pack — led by the likes of St Helens, York Valkyrie and Leeds Rhinos — aim to take it from them.
Also inside this issue, we hear from players chasing their own dreams, from France international Justine Roses adapting to life in Australia, to Sarah Devlin’s inspiring rise in wheelchair rugby league and we have a fascinating insight into elite sport away from the rugby league field following Emily Bell’s triumph in the BBC’s Gladiators show.
Danny Walker talks to us about overcoming setbacks and self-doubt to become a key figure at Warrington, Brett Ferres reflects on a career that saw him written off as a youngster but which shows no sign of slowing down at Goole Vikings as he hits 40, and Jamie Doran tells us about having a foot in both camps with Whitehaven and Workington.
Elsewhere, we revisit the Clash of the Codes to argue ‘it was never a draw’ as many have always claimed, and we look back on Tony Currie’s remarkable rugby league journey.
All this plus our regular international coverage, I hope you enjoy what we’ve put together for you and we’ll be back next month with more.
