This month’s issue of 4x4 features two very different Jeeps, both of which are new to the UK. There’s the Wrangler JL, which we’ve tested on some of Britain’s toughest rights of way, and the astonishing Grand Cherokee Trackhawk – a 710bhp ultra-SUV that can leave supercars trailing in its wake.

We’ve got one of the best 70-Series Toyota Landcruisers Britain has ever seen, too, as well as a super-tidy Land Rover Defender 90 and a stunning example of Suzuki’s bizarre X90 – a sort-of coupe-cum-4x4 that was based on the original Vitara, allowing it to be modified into a wacky but incredibly effective off-roader.

Talking of effective off-roaders. we took a Nissan Navara AT32 into the heights of the North York Moors for this month’s roadbook. We tried packing a SsangYong Tivoli full of big blokes for a very wet assault on Snowdon, too.
