This Spring issue is packed with so much to enjoy! Fancy a twin city break? Then why not try the classical remains of Volubilis which contrasts nicely with the vibrant colour of modern Fez in Morocco? If you fancy visiting the wilds of Scotland then the Orkney Islands means you can see fantastic Neolithic remains as well as stunning scenery. April sees the 102nd anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign, so we take a visit to the battlefields to find out what you will see today. Or if you are looking for somewhere completely different why not try a (long) weekend in the fabulous city of St. Peterburg – there is so much to see and do that you really should spend at least a week there!

It is an exciting time in the world of art: the 100th anniversary of the death of Rodin, so a great excuse to visit Paris and the first female painter of Florence is finally getting her own show at the Uffizi gallery – so a visit to Florence in March is also a must. A slightly trickier journey would be to see the oldest cave art in the world in Indonesia, but you can accompany artist Craig Kraft as he takes you there.

Our interviewee is the writer and traveller, Nick Jubber, whose new book on his journey to Timbuktu and desert adventures is just out, our Intrepid Traveller is Alexandra David-Néel, who was the first visitor to Tibet at a time when it was closed to foreigners, and Adrian Phillips, MD of Bradt Travel Guides, shares his Canadian catastrophe with us in Traveller’s Tales. Dig diary is back and there is a new feature called ‘TT Loves’ so together with our book reviews, ‘where to go when’ and arts and archaeological latest news and exhibitions – this issue will keep you occupied for quite some time!

Amazing cultural magazine

Simply a fantastic magazine. Finally a magazine about archeology, travel and art that is intelligent, interesting and cultural. This is a truly enjoyable read and I always end up learning about inspirational trips and people. I can't recommend it enough. Beoordeeld op 02 juni 2016
