Rugby League World Magazine 508 Vorige editie

In rugby league we can perhaps spend too much time reflecting on the things that are wrong in our sport and overlook the good stuff.
With the RFL undertaking yet another ‘strategic review’ of its operations, the ongoing dramas at Salford and the loss of yet another expansion club, this time in Cornwall, that’s hardly surprising.
But the speed at which tickets for the long-awaited Ashes Series are selling, including ‘sold out’ signs already up at Everton and Headingley, should give us some cause for optimism.
Can England win the series, and if they did what benefits might it generate? We dare to dream of the possibilities inside this issue, and we also talk to Wigan’s Harry Smith, our cover star who will be an integral part of trying to turn dreams to reality.
We also preview the new Women’s Super League season. It kicks off in the shadow of England’s shocking defeat in Las Vegas, but the players will be keen to get out on the field and prove they can bounce back from that. Can York Valkyrie make it a three-peat?
In the Championship, we take a look at Halifax who have enjoyed a flying start to their season, and in League One, we catch up with Huddersfield Giants Legend Eorl Crabtree to discover how he plans to boost the fortunes of Midlands Hurricanes in his new role there as managing director.
All this plus our regular features will give you plenty of things to feel positive about amidst rugby league’s seemingly never ending existential crises.
