Welcome to Military Modelling Magazine, Volume 48, Number 5. Well, that’s two years gone in a flash and I’m finally feeling a little bit more settled. I like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who have got behind us over the past couple of years and accepted changes with an open and enthusiastic mind; it really is appreciated, ladies and gentlemen.
This month, the model of the hour goes to one of those great supporters of the magazine, Malcolm Cuming, who has presented us with a wonderful bust of Horatio Nelson which adorns our cover. Inside, our lead article is an interesting mix of kits resulting in a cracking Berlin Brigade Chieftain ARRV by Ian Barraclough. Next comes the debut of Steve Jones, a very active contributor to the website, who presents us with a German captured CMP 60L followed by another unusual subject in the shape of James Langford’s Reichsbahn Skirted coach. Another debutant to the magazine is Charles Silverlight who presents an interesting article on Panther tank tracks; an example of a valuable feature that was destined to be posted on the website first. The popular Emmanuel Nouaillier continues his amazing work and this is followed by Peter Fearon’s superb Voltaire battleship, which is quite a contrast to his last contribution.
Urban Recovery
1/35 Chieftain AARV Mk.7, Tamiya Chieftain Mk.5 and MasterClub Chieftain Tracks (MTL 35079) makes for a great combination by Ian Barraclough
Captured Canadian Chevy
Steve Jones builds a CMP 60L in German hands with a 20mm Flak 30 (Part 1 of 2)
Horatio Nelson
Alexandros Models 200mm bust by Malcolm Cuming
Reichsbahn Skirted Coach
Scratch built AB4ü-38 skirted coach by James Langford
Search for Perfection
1/35 Panther Tank Tracks by Charles Silverlight
Antique balcony railings
Emmanuel Nouaillier continues his excellent ageing techniques in this month’s tutorial
