Liverpool FC Programmes vs Bayer Leverkusen UCL 24/25 Vorige editie

UEFA Champions League football is back at Anfield on Tuesday, with a familiar face in the opposition technical area.

The official matchday programme is the perfect souvenir for Xabi Alonso’s return as head coach of Bayer 04 Leverkusen ahead of the matchday four league phase clash.

Inside we look back at Alonso’s illustrious Anfield career, reflect on the reasons why he became one of the best midfielders to wear the famous red jersey and put the focus on a special pair of his boots which are on display in the club’s museum.

We also hear from two of Liverpool’s current midfield men, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, who discuss their Champions League dreams.

Skipper Virgil van Dijk previews the game in his regular column while head coach Arne Slot also shares his thoughts ahead of the clash with the German champions.

With this season marking 60 years in Europe, there is a look back at the first-round clashes with Anderlecht in 1964, nights made famous for Liverpool swapping their white shorts for red.

We also look back at a memorable Euro night from 5 November 1980 when Bob Paisley’ men produced some footballing fireworks at Anfield to see off Alex Ferguson’s Aberdeen.

Elsewhere, we reflect on Liverpool’s journey in this season’s Champions League to date, take a look back at some matchday three highlights, bring you all the latest from the UEFA Youth League and hear from singer and LFC fan Driia.
