Happy New Year to all of our readers!
For the start of 2016, we offer you a host of articles, interviews and reviews that cover a very varied range of dance styles; we are sure you will find them fascinating. From ballet, ballroom and contemporary dance, to Latin American and social dancing by way of Malambo from Argentina and the Peking Opera from China, you will find them all within these pages – it’s something the magazine has always attempted to do since its inception in 1910 under the editorship of Philip Richardson – hence the name, Dancing Times!
In addition, we talk to dancers Matthew Ball, Diana Melly and Marianela Nuñez, find out about the upcoming MOVE IT dance exhibition taking place in March, discover more about the advances being made in the study of dance medicine and science, and highlight two individual institutions that concentrate on vocational dance training – London Studio Centre and the Dance Academy of Oslo’s National Academy of the Arts.
Throughout the magazine, you’ll also find some really splendid examples of dance photography, from a specially-chosen selection made for us by world-class dance photographer Lois Greenfield, to an engrossing new exhibition of pictures by Rick Guest. Whatever your dance preferences are, we’re sure you’ll find them here. Or you may even find something unexpected and new to get excited about!

Dancing Times

I think more contemporary dance reviews and dance artists from this discipline are missing. I love the magazine, it only seems to cover mainly ballet and ballroom. Beoordeeld op 15 augustus 2020
