The Classic MotorCycle Magazine December 2025 Edizione posteriore

Welcome to the last ‘calendar’ issue of the year, which seems a good time to say goodbye to a pair of features which have been long-running, but have now reached the end.
The discontinued duo are Alan Turner’s Restoration Guide and Tim Britton’s Triumph project, both of which have been staples of the magazine. Our thanks to Alan and Tim for their efforts, while we shall continue to see their names on other features, I’m sure. See their sign offs on pages 76 and 84 respectively.
This year has been one of change, with owner of The Classic MotorCycle, Mortons Media, being sold to Kelsey Media. There are
lots of changes going on in the background, but please be assured, the team and I are working as hard as ever to try and deliver the best possible magazine we can. I do it because I love it and want to ensure the title endures, which, due to this restructure, hopefully means it will for some time yet. The support of you, the readers, is invaluable…
so thank you. And remember, keep writing letters, offering answers, suggestions and criticisms; these make The Classic MotorCycle
the entity it is. That we cover such a broad scope is one of the things I (and I hope you) enjoy; in this issue, for example, we have Martin
Squires’ 1903-based account right through to the Evel Knievel jump bike replica, 70- odd years between them. That it’s 50 years between the famous, unsuccessful Knievel Wembley bus hop and now, and 50 years
between the Harley and the AJS V-twin on the archive pages, takes some computing.
But it just shows why the era we’re interested in is so compelling, as it covers from when motorcycles were identifiable as bicycles with engines, to effectively what it now a ‘modern’ motorcycle. Great stuff and long may it continue.
