Our real homes this issue offer a plethora of planning ideas – on page 24 in The Right Move we tell you about Rachael’s coach house renovation which pays homage to its history in such a sympathetic way. In Lofty Intentions, page 38, a breathtakingly large cathedral-esque space threatened to overwhelm any kitchcn layout, but the designers worked their magic to create a hub that is totally worthy of its Manhatten-style loft home. Awkward spaces continue to be a theme in Old Meets New, as Serena’s Georgian property contained a multitude of orginal features which, although stunning, made fitting a suitable kitchen somewhat difficult – but not impossible. The result? A stunning, familyfriendly floorplan that works with the house instead of against it – turn to page 48 to find out more. To honour her mother’s memory, Marie worked with her daughter to create a sociable kitchen that was both fresh and ergonomic, reflecting the beautiful colours of the garden – you’ll find more of their story in All Welcome on page 60.
