Sylvia ou la Nymphe de Diane, the late nineteenth-century French ballet chosen to open the 2019/2020 season at La Scala Theatre in December, is the focus of our special feature this issue.

We also interview Sylvia’s latest ‘creator’, Manuel Legris, choreographer of the version coming to La Scala co-produced with the Wiener Staatsballett, where it premiered last year.
