Old Warriors v Unknown Monsters

If I were to choose two types of carp that Big Carp readers love more than any others then old warriors and unknown monsters would top the list. But if I were to ask our readers to pick between the two, I'm sure the vote would be evenly matched. Luckily this month you don't have to choose because we've got both – a virtual extravaganza of hardcore carp porn.

Our cover story this month is the exclusive tale of one such warrior, Monks Pit’s monster, the legendary Porky, and caught by a legend too, as Derek Ritchie smashes his PB with his first ever UK fifty. Well done, Del Boy – very well deserved. Not only a fifty but some other big’uns too – a great little tale with some awesome shots, so cheers, mate. If you have not read Derek's book yet, take my advice and do so; it’s a fantastic read. There are lots of books around these days, but there's only one Don, so get it on your birthday/Christmas list – you won’t regret it.

This month’s issue is stacked out with so many thoroughbreds that I don't know who to tell you about next.
