Well that’s another one over – weeks of preparation and planning. Was it worth it? If you’ve got children, of course it is, and let’s face it, a few days off work is always nice, so yes, I suppose it was. A new year dawns, new challenges, new horizons to be conquered, and hopefully some big whackers to catch in a couple of months time once all this horrible cold stuff disappears.
For now though it’s back to business, and the latest Big Carp Legends, which is me. What’s it all about? Well it’s all the stuff I dared not write in my original books – all the shenanigans the Famous Five and I got up to at Savay and Harefield, all my run-ins with the club at Harrow, what really went on at Fox Pool and the Snake Pit and my years at Yateley, no holds barred, totally uncut. It’s definitely going to make you laugh, gasp and cry – the truth, the whole truth, so help me God! Yes, it will offend. No, I’m not proud of some of the things I’ve written about, but did it need to be written about? Damn right it did! We did some naughty things, yes, but sometimes we got the blame for things we didn’t do! Time to tell the truth and shame the devil and in some cases, put the blame where it belongs, even if it was 20 years ago. I will also be working on the next three legends books, and they are Bruce Ashby, Mike Wilson and John Baker. Wow, yes I know – awesome!
Finally on the book front, to all the collectors who purchased the set of three blue leather Tiger Bay, Fox Pool and Bazil’s Bush, the fourth in that set will be out in the spring along with a very attractive case, which holds all four volumes.
