Welcome to the Spring edition of Autostrada.
As we reflect upon our journey over the past few years, one particular cover story stands out vividly in our minds. It was the March edition of 2017 when we featured Robert Wickens, the charismatic driver from Guelph Ontario who graced our cover and was taking charge in the (DTM) Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters circuit over in Europe. Little did we know then that his story would take such a dramatic turn, marking a pivotal moment not only in his life but also in the hearts of many who followed his career.
Robert's life-altering spinal cord injury in a near-fatal IndyCar crash
shocked the racing community and beyond. Yet, it's with immense pride
and joy that we share this remarkable update with you. Five years later,
against all odds, Robert reclaimed his first title and won the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Championship.
His unwavering determination and extraordinary talent behind the wheel propelled him to this incredible achievement, marking a triumph of spirit and resilience. We are proud to celebrate his remarkable journey. We thank you Robert for allowing us to tell your amazing story of a true champion.
This year we attended the Canadian International Autoshow in Toronto that was yet another success, with Autostrada featuring a stunning lineup of 14 sought-after exotic supercars. It's hard to believe that just a few years ago, we started with a modest 10'x10' booth located at the bottom of the escalator with only a single car, and the support of our friends at Garage Living. We are immensely grateful to everyone who has been a part of our growth and contributing to our success and helping us share our passion, history and journey for automobiles.
As spring approaches, we eagerly anticipate shedding off the car covers and preparing for another exhilarating summer on the road. Stay tuned for our upcoming events, as we have some exciting venues lined up for Summer.
