Wargames Illustrated Magazine Wi461 May 2026 Edición anterior

We’re mixing things up a bit with our Freebie Frame this month, and welcoming some excellent 15mm plastic tanks from Battlefront – a first for Wi!*

The re-release of Early War for Battlefront’s best-selling World War Two game, Flames of War, has been going down a storm with wargamers, and we are really pleased to be able to offer you a French Somua S35 or British Vickers Light Tank to bolster your Early War forces.

You won’t be left wanting for information about your new models; in this issue, we have history (p.28), assembly suggestions (p.20), and a painting guide (p.42) for the tanks, helping you to get them tabletop-ready in no time. In other Armoured Warfare-theme articles, we present our take on the Salute 53 Force & Valor free figure, and a wonderful What a Tanker! game – soon to hit the UK show circuit.

Away from modern armour, you will find plenty with which to wet your wargaming whistle in our other articles, in which we take in the Hammerhead Painting Competition, a ‘Crusader’ temple, the Peninsular War, and more.
