Empowerment.
In this issue we represent the resilient women who surf. These women aren’t super human; they’re ordinary people doing extraordinary things. From surfing in ice-cold seas and exploring undiscovered coastlines, to overcoming bulimia through surfing or preparing to take on challenges – such as competing in the Olympics or surfing in a country where it goes against the social norms.
These women are role models in their communities. They are mothers, workers, sisters and students whose experiences have made them stronger. They are people who’ve simply got out there and got on with it.
Sometimes it feels like, rather than making changes for the better, too many people sit around emanating bad vibes. If the women in this issue have taught us anything, it’s that the world is yours for the taking, so don’t let anything hold you back, especially not negativity. If you want to show the world how strong you are, get out there and take positive action.
