We all know things have been challenging the past few years. Each of us has found ways to cope, and from what I have been seeing and reading, our community has been welcoming a large amount of new miniaturists.
No surprise there. With more down time due to the pandemic, making miniatures is a great way to relieve stress and cultivate a positive outlook on life.
When things flip upside down in life I always try to remember that the only thing that is constant in this life is change. So instead of fearing change and fighting it, find a way to accept it gracefully and turn it into a positive blessing.
If you think about it, this is what we, as miniaturists, do with our art. We build our structures and discover the material or tools prevent us from achieving our initial vision, but instead of throwing in the towel we step back, reassess, and end up with a new vision that actually improved upon the first one!
This issue of DHM shares many incredible examples of innovation and perseverance from talented artists. So now it is time to get inspired and nurture your creativity, then share it with the world!
