The cover car is Canadian Carl Menard’s 1972 Super Beetle, with its amazing copper theme, which runs through the inside of the car as well as the outside. Read about how he has created this stunning looking ride over his 10 years of ownership. Talking of stunning looking rides, you can check out the fantastic job the guys at HR Autoworks in the UK did on Dayne Maguire’s Jungle Green Oval – the car was found abandoned in Bulgaria in the ’80s but has now been fully revived and really looks the part, or should we say parts, as it has had quite a few!
Pete Trotman gives you a tour of his very clean South African 1961 Split Screen Double Cab, and we have a heart-warming story of a father-and-daughter project in Florida. Elsewhere in this issue, UTA brings you a fine selection from life in the low lane, we get the inside story on a Beach Buggy build, and we have more stories on some awesome vehicles, including a Split Screen, a Bay Window, and a Karmann Ghia. Plus, this issue includes a comprehensive Beetle Buyers Guide for you, as well as travel, music and fashion to add to the mix.

Like many great origin stories - the idea of Air-Style VW Magazine was conceived in a pub. Four like-minded friends knew that they weren't alone in their love for all things Volkswagen. They felt there was a gap in the market for the many that shared their passion, and believed that they could provide a service that speaks to the people in love with the cars, vans, music and lifestyle that makes the VW fandom so unique. Throughout the various pub meetings that followed, the premise grew from a concept into a fully functioning business plan. Their mission was simple… to provide VW enthusiasts with a dedicated publication in which they can learn more about their beloved brand, and share their experiences with other VW devotees.
Fast forward to today, and Air-Style VW Magazine has surpassed expectations. Proud to pair their own passion with fellow VW enthusiasts - Air-Style VW’s success has stemmed from the creators being genuine fans of the brand.
